THE VILLAGE HOME
Your road journey ends at the bend at Ganoli. A few steps down, and you are at your village home. The rest of the village spreads unseen, down the other shoulder of the hill.
From the flagstone courtyard outside, the valley falls off and then rises in the distance in waves of misted hills. In the sun, or in the shade, or over a fire, you will discover here many ways of doing absolutely nothing.
You are welcome to explore the village life or walk in the surrounding meadows and hills. You will be eating produce grown locally, often from the vegetable patch of your hostess. Join her in the kitchen if you want to learn Kumaoni cuisine.
Or don’t bother, just enjoy yourself when the food is ready!
